Log Issues
Log Issues while Recording
Log issue to the scenario while recording the test session. The system reflects the logged issues in the Issues module. If you have linked external trackers with QMetry, the system also logs the issues into that external tracker.
Note
The logging issue operation will pause your session for a while. If you wish to resume the session, then close the issue logging screen after logging the issue.
To log an issue while recording:
Click the Bug icon to capture a screenshot of the current page.
The screenshot opens in a new tab with standard image editing options.
Annotating Screenshot: You can annotate the screenshot using the features available on the editor.
Logging an Issue in QMetry
You can log an issue directly from exploratory testing using QMetry fields such as:

If you have enabled Layout Management, the fields on the Issue Create screen appears according to the layout defined for the Add page of the Issue module.
Project: Select the project for which the issue is to be logged.
Summary: Enter the Summary that represents a brief about the issue.
Priority: Select the priority of the issue from the drop-down list.
Labels: Select the Labels applicable to the issue. You can select multiple options for the field.
Issue Type: Select the issue type from Bug, Enhancement, New Feature.
Owner: Select the assignee who will work on the issue from the drop-down list.
Description: Describe the issue in detail in this text area.
Notes
If cascading list fields are configured and enabled for the project, they appear during exploratory testing.

Logging an Issue in Jira
Configure Jira with your QMetry project to log issues directly in Jira.
To log an issue in Jira, enter the following details:
Project: QMetry project integrated with Jira.
Instance: Select the Jira instance to log the issue.
External Project: Select the Jira Project to log the issue.
Issue Type: Shows the issue types mapped to the QMetry Issue module during Jira integration. If "Sub-task" is included, you can create Sub-task issues as defects for failed executions.
Parent Issue Key: This field is visible if the “Sub-task” is selected as the Issue Type above. It populates the issues created in the Jira project.
Other fields will appear in accordance with the project selection.
Logging Issue in Azure DevOps
If Azure DevOps is configured in QMetry, you can log issue directly in Azure DevOps.
Enter the following details:
Project: QMetry project integrated with Azure DevOps
Instance: The Azure DevOps instance to log the issue.
External Project: Select the Azure DevOps Project you want to log issue to.
Issue Type: The issue type is displayed as per the issue type configuration with QMetry Issue module while Azure DevOps integration.
Fill all the required details and click Log Issue. The screenshot is added as an attachment to the issue in the Issue module.
The defect count is displayed for the recorded session on the Exploratory Testing screen. Click on the Defect count to navigate to the Defects tab of the session.
The Defects tab displays details of the logged defect.
Clicking on the External Key opens the issue detail page in Azure DevOps.
If you click the Entity Key of the Exploratory session, it opens the QMetry Issue module, where the issues is displayed with External Key clicking on which opens the issue detail page in Azure DevOps.
View Logged Issues
Issue Logged in QMetry
To view issues logged in QMetry:
Go to Exploratory Testing under Automation.
You can see the issue count logged for the tests or sessions.
Clicking the issue count in the grid opens the issue screenshot attached.
Clicking the Entity Key opens the issue detail page in the Issue Module.
Issues Logged in Jira
Click External Key for the Exploratory session opens the issue detail page in the external tracker.
To view issues logged in Jira:
Go to the Execution Screen.
Click the Bug icon.
The issues logged from QMetry Exploratory extension are visible under Available Issues tab.
Log Issues without Sessions
You can log issues without recording a session; they are directly added to the Issue module in QMetry Test Management.
To log issues without sessions, perform the following steps:
Open the QMetry Exploratory Testing add-on.
Click Log Issue.
Enter the issue details same as you do when logging an issue during recording the session.
The issue is added to QMetry Issue module in the corresponding project.
