Attachment Storage Configuration
Users get a free space of 5 GB for attachments, which they can then opt to extend. The attachment storage contains all attachments for QTM4J test cases, test steps, test cycles, test case executions, test step executions, and exploratory sessions on their Jira instance. The Attachment Storage option displays Storage Configuration for the QMetry for Jira instance. It includes details on the usage of the allocated storage limit.
Accessing Attachment Storage
Perform the following steps to access the Attachment Storage feature:
Click the Apps menu of Jira.
Select the Manage your apps option.
Alternatively, you can go to Settings and select Apps.
Select Global Settings in QTM4J on the navigation bar.
The QTM4J Global Settings screen opens.
Select the Attachment Storage section.
Viewing Attachment Storage Graph
The graph shows the percentage of storage space that has been utilized out of the currently allocated storage. It depicts used storage vs. empty storage. Users can also view the following statistics on this read-only screen:
Current Storage Limit
Current Available Storage
Expiry date of extended storage (only if you have opted for an extended storage facility)
The graph color indicates the usage of the attachment storage.
If the attachment storage is used between 0 and 70%, the graph will be displayed in Blue.
If the attachment storage is used between 71 and 90%, the graph will be displayed in Yellow.
If the attachment storage is used above 90%, the graph will be displayed in Red.
The section displays the following information related to your current Attachment Storage.
Total Storage Limit
Used Storage
Available Storage
Viewing Attachment Storage Utilization Details
Click the Used Storage portion on the graph, and you can view details of the Attachment Summary and Cumulative Utilization Trend by Month.
Attachment Summary
The report displays project-wise Attachment Storage Utilization. The utilization data is further categorized as per the test entities in respective projects. You can apply sorting on the columns.
You can export the summary details to an Excel file.
The system automatically refreshes the report statistics every Saturday. You can see the last refreshed information at the bottom of the screen.
You can apply a filter on projects to view the Attachment Storage Utilization details of a particular project(s).
Cumulative Utilization Trend by Month
This report shows the Cumulative Utilization for Attachment Storage of the entire instance for the last 12 months.
The following table displays the implications of storage usage, providing insights into how storage consumption affects the users:

---|---|
exceeds 80% | If the attachment storage usage exceeds 80% of the allocated limit, an email notification will be sent to the Primary Technical Contact of your Jira instance. |
exceeds 90% | If the attachment storage usage exceeds 90% of the allocated limit, an email notification will be sent to the Primary Technical Contact of your Jira instance. |
reaches 100% | If the attachment storage usage reaches 100%, QTM4J users will not be able to add attachments to QTM4J test assets or create exploratory sessions. |
How to Extend Storage Size?

If users have opted for extended storage, then the storage expiry date is also displayed on the screen.
Users can not add any new attachments to test assets due to either of the following reasons:
If the validity of extended storage expires, users will receive a warning message showing that the attachment storage has expired.
If the storage size exceeds the limit, users will receive a warning message showing that the initial storage capacity has been reached.
