Syncing Data with Azure DevOps

Syncing Data with Azure DevOps

Overview

Syncing refreshes all data and metadata including field layouts, custom fields, and configurations, between Azure DevOps and QMetry. Sync pulls the complete dataset from Azure, which helps maintain consistency after structural changes.

When should you use Force Sync?

You can use Force Sync in the following scenarios:

  • When the mapped project's process changes in Azure DevOps.

  • When you add new custom fields or modify existing ones in Azure Work Items.

  • When the integration between QMetry and Azure DevOps is disrupted and re-established.

  • When recent configuration changes cause data to appear incomplete or out of sync.

Using Force Sync in the above cases helps maintain data consistency between QMetry and Azure DevOps.

How to Sync Data from Azure DevOps?

To sync data from Azure DevOps, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Projects Management QMetry and select Projects.

  2. Go to the Integration tab.

  3. Click Sync to synchronize requirements and issues from Azure DevOps.

  4. Select the syncing option:

  • Sync All: Click Sync to synchronize all data between QMetry and Azure DevOps. This syncs all assets, including test cases, requirements, and issues.

  • Sync (Refresh Icon): Click Sync without enabling Sync All to only sync updated assets. Use this option if there are structural changes in Azure DevOps, such as adding or updating fields in layouts or when QMetry-Azure DevOps integration has been disrupted.
