Exporting Issues

Exporting Issues

Introduction

Export issues from QMetry to an Excel file and save it to the local drive. Only users with the “Export” right for the Issue module can perform this action. Admins manage role-based access from Roles under Customization. If a user's role lacks export rights, the Export option appears disabled.

Note

On integration of Jira with QMetry, the Issues module of QMetry will not be available.

  • Visible Fields: Select the option to export only visible fields on the List view screen.

  • All Fields: Select this option to export all fields, including both visible and hidden columns.

Note

The test case description and step description fields are included in the export irrespective of any field export options.

Additional Export Options

Export issue details with comments: This option enables you to share the bug details with comments to other teams who do not access QMetry.

Notes

  • “Export issue details with comments” is available only for QMetry internal Issue module.

  • The system exports comments as the last column in the Excel file.

  • If an issue has multiple comments, the system exports each comment in a separate column, starting from the oldest to the most recent.

  • If a comment contains rich text, the system converts it to Wiki Markup during export and displays it that way in the Excel file.

Click Export.

Click Yes to proceed.

You can view export progress in the notification window on the application header. This allows scheduled exports to run in the background and allows users to continue with their other work.

Go to the Scheduled Tasks section to download the exported issues.

Refer to Tracking Export Progress for more details.
